"In the BVI, the horizon doesn’t just meet the sea — it invites you to dream past it.”
There’s something about the British Virgin Islands that feels like exhaling. The water shifts between shades of turquoise you didn’t know existed, the breeze carries hints of salt and hibiscus, and time seems to slow just enough for you to remember what it feels like to truly be somewhere. The BVI isn’t just a destination — it’s a mood, a rhythm, a quiet kind of magic that stays with you long after you’ve left.
We will be returning to the BVI next year. I have written about it before, but though I would do a follow-up post offering more staying options in this magnificent paradise including:
Virgin Island Yacht Charters (sailing)
Virgin Island Yacht Charters
We will be using this Yacht Charter group to sail next year. They offer Bareboat & Crewed Charters. They operate a diverse fleet of sailing catamarans based out of Village Cay Marina (BVI) and Compass Point Marina (USVI). Their boats range from 2–4 cabins and typically accommodate 4–10 guests. Virgin Islands Yacht Charters provides all the necessary equipment for your adventure, including snorkeling gear, paddle boards, and kayaks for some yachts. Plus, with a fully equipped galley and provisions available for purchase, you’ll have everything you need to prepare meals onboard your yacht.
The BVI is one of the world’s premier sailing destinations thanks to steady trade winds, calm waters, and short island hops. Sailing is consistently ranked the top activity in the region. There are over 60 islands, so there are plenty of sailing options and various routes you can take. Our previous route started in Road Town, Tortola. From there, we sailed to Soper's Hole; then on to The Bight on Norman Island. We hopped over to Manchioneel Bay on Cooper Island and Day 3; then proceeded to Leverick Bay in Virgin Gorda on day 4. Day was spent sailing to the Great Harbour on Jost Van Dyke. Day 6 we visited Peter Island. OUr last day we returned to Road Town. If you want to see more of BVI, island hopping is the way to go!
